The project for the development of the B\u2019 Beach Voula area includes, among other things, the creation of a new municipal swimming pool with a 25-meter pool, which will meet the needs of children\u2019s and teenage swimming teams as well as training facilities for local sports teams. Currently, the Municipality of Vari-Voula-Vouliagmeni does not have a municipal swimming pool, and sports teams in the wider area use the Olympic swimming pool of the Hellenic Naval Academy in Vari for their training.<\/p>\n

Additionally, there is expected to be a 30% increase in green spaces, the creation of high-quality sports facilities, entertainment experiences, wellness facilities, and dining options. Emphasis is placed on environmental protection and increasing green spaces, with provisions for electric vehicle charging stations.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, as stated in the Environmental Impact Study, the existing projects include the construction of three artificial islands made of concrete, and the following projects are planned:<\/p>\n

\u2022 Cleaning of the coast and seabed rehabilitation.
\n\u2022 Repair\/restoration of existing islands.
\n\u2022 Construction of floating breakwaters.
\n\u2022 Construction of two promenades made of natural rocks at the outlet of the pipeline at the southeast end of the coast, with a total length of about 100m. The first 40m are designed as low crown breakwaters, followed by the remaining 60m as submerged breakwaters.
\n\u2022 Construction of armoring with natural rocks along the coastline opposite the promenades, approximately 70m in length.<\/p>\n

It is also noted that: \u201cThe existing islands in their current state present many damages, with the most significant being the presence of extensive excavations along their entire length (longitudinal axis) at their base and the presence of openings. The goal of the proposed interventions is to ensure safe and unobstructed public access to the sea. The ultimate goal of the project is the redevelopment and enhancement of this coastal front (B\u2019 Voula Coast)\u201d.<\/p>\n

It is worth noting that this area remained unused for years and showed a strong image of neglect. After the redevelopment, the beach will come back to life after 30 years.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
