In recent years, iLand has made a series of investments aimed at creating high-aesthetic residences in the southern suburbs of Athens. The construction company was founded by Ali Fouladi and his brother after their arrival in Greece. What sets these properties apart is that they do not follow a single architectural approach in their design. Each one has its own character and a distinctive name, inspired by world-renowned artists who left an indelible mark through their work.<\/p>\n

Lorca by iLand<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Among iLand\u2019s most recent creations is the luxury building named Lorca<\/strong>, a tribute to the prominent Spanish poet and playwright, a key figure of the so-called “Generation of ’27.” Located in Voula, the complex consists of six residences in total\u2014two maisonettes of 115 square meters, two maisonettes of 93 square meters, and two apartments of 72 square meters.<\/p>\n

One of iLand’s latest projects is the Mondrian<\/strong> residential building, inspired by the Dutch painter Piet Mondrian, situated in the Panorama area of Voula. It is a four-story building comprising one luxurious 85-square-meter apartment and four distinct maisonettes of 87 square meters each. All residences have access to a swimming pool.<\/p>\n

The First Residential Building in Glyfada<\/h2>\n

Construction is soon expected to begin on iLand\u2019s first residential complex in Glyfada, under the name Rumi<\/strong>, inspired by the 13th-century Persian poet Jalal al-Din Rumi. The development will include a total of six residences: one 88-square-meter maisonette with two bedrooms and pool access, and another 92-square-meter maisonette with two bedrooms and a private pool. There will also be two 114-square-meter apartments, each with three bedrooms. At the top of the building, there will be two maisonettes measuring 90 and 101 square meters respectively.<\/p>\n

At the same time, construction is underway on another residential building named Neruda<\/strong> in the Vouliagmeni area\u2014designed as a luxurious boutique property.<\/p>\n

Planned investments also include the redevelopment of an existing building in Glyfada<\/strong>, recently acquired by the company, which will be named Marquez<\/strong>, inspired by the Colombian author Gabriel Garc\u00eda M\u00e1rquez. In the neighbouring area of Palaio Faliro, another residential complex will be developed under the name Picasso<\/strong>. It will be located in the heart of the suburb, in a prime location, with six floors. From the second floor upward, residents will enjoy sea views.<\/p>\n

In parallel with its activities on the Athenian Riviera, iLand is also expanding into the center of Athens, where it plans to renovate a building it has acquired.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn any case, we remain committed to investing in the Athenian Riviera. We see enormous potential for further development in the region over the coming years. At times, we’ve explored the idea of entering the Greek islands\u2014Mykonos, Paros, or elsewhere\u2014considering the possibility of developing a hotel. The reason is that we already have a connection to the hospitality and dining sector, as owners of Divan restaurant in Glyfada. So, we are certainly interested in expanding into the tourism sector,\u201d <\/em>says the company\u2019s Managing Director, Ali Fouladi<\/strong>, in an interview with NouPou<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

According to Fouladi, the company\u2019s core services include property development and sales<\/strong> in the southern suburbs.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt the same time, we offer maintenance and property management services to our clients. We also provide legal support, as we work with specialized legal professionals both within and outside the company,\u201d<\/em>
\nhe adds.<\/p>\n

A Relationship with Greece<\/h2>\n

When asked why he and his brother chose to come to Greece and eventually build a business here, Mr. Fouladi describes the unique emotions<\/strong> he experienced upon visiting the country. Born in Iran<\/strong>, he and his brother first came to Greece in 2006<\/strong>, almost by chance\u2014during a layover caused by a delayed connecting flight from Spain to Cyprus<\/strong>. At that moment, he expressed a strong desire to one day live in Greece\u2014a wish he fulfilled a few years later. In 2014<\/strong>, in the midst of the financial crisis, he decided to settle here permanently and, together with his brother, founded the family business<\/strong>, which this year celebrates its tenth anniversary<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would say that we fell in love with the country. That\u2019s why we returned to Greece after our first visit, developing business activity through iLand. The reason we decided to settle in Greece was that, in 2014, the country was in the midst of a deep economic crisis. Still, we took the risk\u2014and we were rewarded for it. We believed in the country and its potential at a time when even many Greeks didn\u2019t. All the economic indicators and the political climate back then were negative. But Greeks have always had the strength to persevere and overcome whatever challenges they face\u2014from ancient times to today. They surpass every form of tyranny, war, or any internal or external forces that try to dominate them. Let me remind you: Greece is the birthplace of democracy. My feeling is that no matter how many difficulties this country encounters in the future, it will continue to rise above them. That belief, combined with our love for Greece, is what drew us here,\u201d<\/em>

Speaking about the name of the company, he explains that it aligns completely with the etymology of the two words: \u201cI Land\u201d<\/strong>\u2014meaning \u201cI land\u201d<\/em> or \u201cI arrive.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cIt symbolizes our landing and settling in Greece, which is now our home.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

As for the true meaning of the word home<\/em>, Fouladi emphasizes the difference between \u201chouse\u201d<\/em> and \u201chome.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cWe often use the same word to describe both, but the concept of \u2018home\u2019\u2014of hearth\u2014is what we aim to instill in every one of our projects.
