“UNIC Athens will welcome its first students in the fall of 2025 at a specially designed university campus in the area of The Ellinikon. UNIC Athens will be the only university campus operating within the framework of The Ellinikon smart city, the largest urban redevelopment project in Europe”, the announcement states.
The UNIC Athens campus will be developed in three phases, starting in fall 2025 with facilities of 12,500 sq.m. next to The Ellinikon, followed by the construction of new facilities within the project itself. According to the official website of the University of Nicosia, expansion works for the UNIC Athens campus inside The Ellinikon (phases 2–3) will begin in 2026, with the new facilities welcoming their first students in the academic year 2028–29. After the completion of the new Academic and Research Center, student residences and additional research centers will be finalized by 2030.
