Meat n’ Roses: The urban anarchy of Athenian street food

In two different locations in the heart of the city, a conceptual meat project eliminates the distance between the authentic “tylichto” (souvlaki wrap) and exclusive cuts.
Street food and the culture of a modern steakhouse do not have to move on parallel paths. Meat n’ Roses proposes its own, subversive synthesis, bridging the immediacy that characterizes the Greek souvlaki with the quality of the cuts in an environment with pure urban energy.
With two strategically located spots in the liveliest squares of the Athenian center, operating 7 days a week from 12:00 pm to 01:00 am, the brand is a permanent destination for locals who love meat and for travellers who want to escape the cliché of the Greek tavern. The spot in Kolonaki (13 Omirou Str.), a stone’s throw from Syntagma Metro station, is the ideal choice for a lunch break or for a dinner with wine and cocktails. On the other hand, the spot in Pagrati (6 Amynta Str.) has outdoor seating in the lively Proskopon Square, very close to the Goulandris Museum, the Panathenaic Stadium and the National Gallery, offering the perfect setting for a relaxed meal after a walk through the area’s landmarks.
From handmade Greek gyros to Black Angus wrap
The philosophy of the kitchen is based on pure raw materials and controlled intensities. The handmade gyros and burger wraps (beef or turkey), as well as the more special options with buffalo meat and mutton, coexist organically on the same menu with premium cuts, such as Rib Eye and Black Angus fillet.
The project’s identity is clearly reflected in the Black Angus wrap, where the thin cut meets fresh arugula, cherry tomatoes, parmesan and a subtle truffle sauce. And all this in a venue with fine energy and rock ‘n’ roll aesthetics.
